JetLife has hosted the SuperBowl experience for years. And last year? I swore on a stack of Bibles I’d never do it again. Cruise takeovers are hard. The lines change the rules in a heartbeat, and if I’m being honest… sometimes I barely make enough to cover groceries and gas. Let’s just be real.
But you all begged me to bring it back. So I did.
Now let me be clear—Virgin is the BEST cruise line, hands down. The food, the ships, the vibe… perfection. I have zero complaints about the service. But behind the scenes? That’s a different story. As a business owner responsible for your money and your expectations, what happened next was a huge disappointment.
The "Selfie" That Changed Everything
We were scheduled for the dream run: Aruba, St. Kitts, Martinique, and Curaçao. I already dropped thousands on ads. I had the videos running nationwide. If you’ve been on a JetLife trip, you know people show up from everywhere—Cali, NY, Boston, ATL. I pay real money to reach you.
I’m in the middle of managing the hype when a customer messages me: “JetLife… Virgin changed the cruise!!”
I go check. Just like that—Aruba, Martinique, and Curaçao? Gone. They replaced them with the Dominican Republic (twice in one week) and Turks. No warning. No explanation.
And the reason? It wasn't safety or weather. They changed the route for a photoshoot. They wanted a "four-ship rendezvous" for their own marketing. Their response to me? “Take it or leave it.” They actually thought I’d charge you the same price for a downgraded trip just so they could get a better Instagram angle.
Nah.
The Pivot
I searched every island in the Caribbean. Seriously. I landed on Aruba, and I didn't want this to feel like a "Plan B." I wanted it to feel like you didn’t miss a thing—actually, I wanted it to be better.
