Listen… for Bali I was compelled to write this blog because y’all got so many questions about these villas.
I ain’t gonna lie — I was scared to even introduce them. Back in 2019, I had a horrible villa experience that left me saying, “hell naw, that ain’t ever happening again.”

But fast forward to Bali 2025 — I decided to dip my feet back in the water and give villas another shot.
And babyyyy… here’s how it turned out — the good, the bad, and the “let me tell you what really happened.”

How It Started?

So I’m researching villas for myself and I’m like, “Ooh damn, this is fly!”
Because who doesn’t like to live RICH when they’re on vacation?!
So I booked one.

Then a group of five ladies from Chicago booked Bali, and I thought — “For the same price, I could put them in a 3-bedroom apartment in Nusa Dua and a 4 bedroom villa with a pool in Ubud.”
I pitched it to them, and of course, they said YES.

That’s when the idea hit me — if I do it for them, I gotta make it available for everyone, right?
Right.

Where I Went Wrong (and the TEA 🫖)

Luxury within reach.

So I listed the villas as 4-to-6-person minimums — open to anyone who wanted that “villa life.” You could bring your people or link with others in the group.

Now here’s where it got real interesting. 😏

We’d been having meetings all the way up to departure — everyone introducing themselves, talking about how excited they were, who’s bringing wigs, who’s bringing swimsuits, all that. Energy was great.

Then we land in Bali and out of nowhere someone says,

“WHY DIDN’T I GET A VILLA?”

Record scratch. Ma’am… because you didn’t book one. 😬

And that’s when I realized — some folks thought “manifesting a villa” meant the payment and 2 extra roommates would magically appear too.

But it gets better — one person just could not get with the program. Everything was an issue. And her roommates finally said, “Listen, I love JetLife, but I didn’t fly across the world to be trapped in a villa with bad energy.”

And honestly? I felt that. So I stepped in, booked an additional villa, moved them out, and kept it pushing. Because if there’s one thing JetLife doesn’t do — it’s confusion in paradise.

Everyone was happy (and peaceful) again — and lesson learned.

💎 Why the New Rule Exists

So here’s the real talk.

The one where someone said, “Why didn’t I get a villa?” 😮‍💨 Yeah… that moment was cute for about five seconds — then it turned into a whole lesson.

See, villas are intimate. You’re sharing a kitchen, a pool, a living room — basically your entire temporary life. And when the energy ain’t right? Whew. It can throw off the whole vibe.

🏡 The Snoring Saga 😩

Let me give you another real-life story.

I once matched two amazing travelers who wanted to share a room. Everything was good until one of them snored like a Harley engine. The other couldn’t sleep for days.

To save the trip, I had to move her into her own private room — out of pocket. That one switch turned into a full-blown domino effect: suddenly, everybody wanted their own private space too.

That’s when I said: “Never again.”

✈️ Peace Over Problems

This isn’t about being strict — it’s about protecting your peace.

Your space should be a sanctuary, not a source of stress. And I can’t promise you a luxury experience if I’m out here playing roommate roulette.

So from now on:
No roommate matching. No villa matching. Period.

If you’re booking a villa or double room, you need to already know your travel partner.
